Dyneval is a fast-growing company, founded in 2020, with exciting ambitions to provide reliable measurements of semen quality using portable instruments.  This automated technology was developed by physicists with over 30 years of experience studying complex fluids.  The Dynescan provides reliable measurements of the mean speed of spermatozoa across the complete range of semen concentrations thus providing a new quality control standard to eliminate poor quality semen before livestock reproduction.  Improving conception rates on farm returns more profit to farmers and lowers the carbon footprint of farming. 

 

The underpinning platform technology has a range of potential applications and we invite you to join a diverse and passionate team focussed on delivering societal benefits through high quality measurement, available to a broad range of users, informing responsible decisions to improve outcomes.  As our Projects Manager you will ensure that resources and finances are being managed effectively to meet milestones and you will support Dyneval’s application for new grants and awards.

 

Key responsibilities:

·      Responsible for overseeing grants management according to the workplan, employing the principles of PRINCE2 with regular risk assessment and mitigation, raising concerns to the Executive Directors

·      Liaise with stakeholders of the grant and all employees working on the grant to prepare for Project meetings and ensure that milestones are met on a timely basis

·      Manage grant administration, collating financial evidence and write project reports for grant claims

·      Support the CEO and CTO to prepare and write grant applications in line with R&D and product development targets

·      Actively monitor the grants and awards landscape and alert the CTO and CEO to relevant opportunities

·      Ensure that contracts and resources are in place to deliver tasks on time

·      Ensure appropriate policies are in place to manage the acquisition, handling and disposal of samples and to protect the Health and Safety of all employees

·      Support the recruitment and induction of all employees and ensure they are familiar with company policies.  Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and raise issues with the Executive Directors

·      Identify opportunities for grant applications to enable further innovation

Minimum Requirements /Qualifications:

·      At least a 2:2 in a undergraduate degree in a biological science or related scientific discipline

·      At least 4 years of experience of working in a research intensive environment

·      An excellent understanding of conducting scientific research and implementing safe laboratory practices and secure data management

·      Experience of project management, ideally with PRINCE2 training

·      Experience of liaising and communicating with stakeholders

·      Excellent written communication and experience writing winning grants

·      Experience of implementing policies to ensure employee health, safety and wellbeing

·      Demonstrable ability to voice concerns and implement change to reduce risks

Highly desirable skills/experiences:

·      Experience of applying for, and winning, large Innovate UK or EU industrial grant funding

·      Experience working in a life sciences environment

·      PRINCE2 Practitioner status

·      Experience of recruitment and people management

·      The ability to identify opportunities and take initiative
